I was always lean, and athletic while growing up. Weighed in at about a buck and a quarter. A few weeks into January 1997 I was in a car accident that forever changed my life.
My weight dropped to 105 lbs at one point. Keep in mind I am 5’10”. That weight and my height equated to about a size 1. I was deathly thin!
I stayed pretty scrawny for the next several years. But I was never healthy. Then I got pregnant with my daughter and gained 97 lbs. I was over 220 lbs by the time I gave birth. It took me two years and a divorce to lose the weight. When I moved home from Japan to the states, I was back in a size 5. I was thin but still not healthy.
I slowly got to a healthy state but unfortunately gradually gained weight back. I have horrible eating habits. A number 9 with a large coke from Mcdonalds breakfast menu sure didn't help.
Then I got pregnant with my son. I was already over my max ideal weight. I was 189lbs when we conceived the lil man. I struggled to keep the weight down but not very successfully! I managed to gain just under 70lbs this time. I was 256lbs ***tears***.
I worked to get enough off to feel somewhat okay in a wedding dress. I was 205 by that time. But no matter what anyone said I still felt huge. After the wedding I fell off the wagon and I gained back almost 10lbs!
I was looking at the scale the other day and saw 213lbs string at me. Being a Mommy and a business owner leaves me little me time, little time to exercise, little time to really think about what I am eating.
I love to cook, and I love to eat. But I also love to work out. My extra weight does not help the injuries that I sustained in my car accident. I know that if I don’t get this under control I will be physically and emotionally miserable for the rest of my life.
For those of you out there with similar struggles, I feel your pain. I will be blogging my progress top a healthier and happier me. I will share my struggles, my diet, my exercises, inspiration, words of encouragement and any info I find that I think you will find helpful.
My goal 160. Since I started making simple changes to my eating habits, I have already lots 5 lbs!
It's a life style change, a choice, not a diet.
